Sgvape – Cracking Down on Illegal Vaporiser Sales

Sgvape is a local vaping company that offers a wide range of products. They have been in the industry for several years and have built a strong reputation for quality. They offer a variety of flavors and are known for their competitive prices.

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has taken active measures to crack down on illegal online sales of electronic vaporisers, including the sale of refill pods. The agency has also conducted operations at various checkpoints to catch people smuggling them into Singapore, including in storage facilities and private homes.

Those caught face thousands of dollars in fines, under the Tobacco Control (Amendment) Act. The law states that it is an offence to import any device that resembles or is designed to resemble the packaging of tobacco products. The HSA said that in the first two months of this year, it has caught six people for selling e-vaporisers and 443 for possessing or using them. Criminal lawyer Adrian Wee from Characterist LLC told CNA that anyone who plays a role in the importation of such devices can be prosecuted, regardless of their location.

The e-liquid in vaporisers usually contains nicotine, flavouring and vitamin E acetate, which is an additive that releases cancer-causing chemicals such as formaldehyde and benzene when heated. It can cling to lung tissue and cause respiratory diseases, the HSA said. It has also been found to contain heavy metal particles such as tin, nickel and lead. These can be inhaled, causing injuries and illness to users and non-users alike. Sgvape
